I have finally seen it! It truly does live up to all the hype. The architecture is amazing. The setting is just stunning. The detail and beauty is mind-blowing. And it is also just about the only building in India that kept truly clean.
Sarah and I took an overnight trip to Agra to see the Taj and other wonderful sights (Agra Fort, Sikandra, Fatehpur Sikri, and the Baby Taj). Agra itself is an incredibly crowded and rather nasty city, and the trip between Delhi and Agra is full of awful traffic and pothole-laden roads (and cows). But these sights are all worth the 3-6 hour drive. So instead of raving over and over about how wonderful the Taj truly is, I'll let the pictures below take care of that for me.
